Danielle Kelly Vocalist
Founder, Frontwoman & Leader of all things “Danielle Kelly Music.'“ Danielle Kelly sings jazz at wineries and cocktail parties across Southern Oregon and Northern California regions. She infiltrates bar and lounge scenes with pop mashups, jazzy blues and soul with piano sidekicks. Dani belts, boogies and shakes the tambourine with the Danielle Kelly Soul Project dance party band.
Weekdays Danielle hosts music show Open Air on Jefferson Public Radio, and her extra curriculars include commercial and film acting, modeling and voice acting.
Paul Turnipseed
Guitar
Guitarist and vocalist Paul Turnipseed developed his musical style and sensibility in his hometown of New Orleans, where he shared the stage with many of the city’s finest musicians. He studied at The University of New Orleans in the Jazz Studies Program under the tutelage of many great musicians and educators including, Steve Masakowski, Victor Goines, Ellis Marsalis, and Harold Battiste. Paul arrived in Southern Oregon in December 2012 by way of Los Cabos, Mexico, where he had lived and performed since 2005 after leaving New Orleans as a result of being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Turnipseed can be heard performing as a solo act, with the Paul Turnipseed Trio, The Danielle Kelly Jazz & Soul Projects, The Brian Swan Band, Sage Meadows, Phoenix Sigalove, LOVEBITE, and with many other local musicians.
Richard “Mr.” Meyer
Electric Bass
Richard has been a musician his entire life starting the violin in the fourth grade. He began playing the bass guitar in Junior High and received a scholarship for the violin to attend Eastern Oregon State College. Where he received a degree in Elementary education and a Music education degree. Richard has spent the past 30 years teaching music in the public school system and playing music with some of the greatest musicians in the World. Such musicians as bassist Victor Wooten. He has created CDs with Chad Wackerman fusion Drummer from Europe as well as Ken Rosser, current guitarist for Mothers of Invention and ex-guitarist for Frank Zappa. A recent retired music teacher he is now playing bass and violin in the community with some of the most amazing musicians in the area. He is the bass guitarist for the Danielle Kelly Soul Project.
Gordon Greenley Saxophone
Gordon Greenley began playing clarinet at the age of 12. After switching to saxophone a year later, he began private instruction and shortly thereafter, began playing professional jazz and theater gigs. Gordon performed throughout high school in Northern California and while in college in Southern California. As a student in Los Angeles, Gordon found many opportunities to study and perform with many world-renowned musicians. Gordon returned to Northern California and continued gigging around the Sacramento area until 2005 when he began playing on cruise ships.
After performing on cruise ships for both Holland America Line, and later, Princess Cruises, Gordon returned to land in 2010, Gordon married, completed his Bachelor of Science in Music, and began freelancing around Southern Oregon with various acts.
Gordon has appeared with Bobby Shew, Craig Chaquico, Frank Emilio Flynn, Gary Foster, Jack Johnson, Jeff Pevar, Kirby Shaw, Larry Harlow, Lorna Luft, Maceo Parker, Ronnie Cuber, and Wayne Bergeron and others.
Most recently, Gordon has been performing with Oregon Shakespeare Festival for both the 2015 season of “Guys and Dolls” and the 2016 production of “The Wiz”. Summer 2017 Gordon will appear at Britt Festival with The Temptations & The Four Tops.
Jeff Addicott
Upright Bass
Jeff Addicott grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, where he studied cello and piano in elementary school (all the while quietly yearning to play bass). He decided that “band” class was too square, and thus went musically dark through Junior High and High school.
In his first year of college, Jeff resumed musical activity, picking up the electric bass. He dabbled with various freeform jams and cover bands, culminating in a triumphant senior year concert with the Punk band: Molten Menace.
After a year of travel and another winter toiling with the wages of a Visual Arts diploma recipient and failing to assemble or join a decent thrash punk band, Jeff decided to pursue a formal education and enrolled in the Jazz program at the Mount Royal College Conservatory in Calgary. He graduated in 1996 then moved to the United States.
Since arriving in Ashland, Oregon, Jeff has become one of the region’s busiest freelance musicians, working, subbing and/or collaborating with numerous entities, including: HorseFeathers, Larry Cavalier, Heart & Soul, The Jaywalkers, Jim Quinby, The Toyes, The Jump Daddies, Modern Prometheus, Good Bait, Beth Baker, Los Salseros, River City R&B, Billy Rock, Back Porch Swing, Journey’s End, Karen Lovely, Salsa Brava, the Robbie DaCosta Band, Smoky Red, Paul Turnipseed and Danielle Kelly.
In addition to his busy music schedule, Jeff is also a full-time glassblower.
Nick Kirby
Drummer
Nick started playing drums at age two, around six, he added bass, guitar, and piano. His father was his mentor and teacher, and eventually band leader. Nick started playing professional gigs with his dad at age nine.
Kirby attended Umpqua Community College, auditioning into The Umpqua Singers, and starting studying musical engineering. he moved to Southern Oregon in 2010 and started getting familiar and connecting with many amazing players in the Rogue Valley. Kirby has worked as a sound engineer with Sylvia Massy at Studio Divine, and currently plays bass/drums with groups like Danielle Kelly Soul Project, Alice DiMicele, Jah Sun and the Rising Tide, Petty Thievery, Frankie Hernandez Band, and Lovebite/Zeptrix.
Nick Kirby is currently wearing his sound engineer hat recording (and playing drums) the debut originals album from Danielle Kelly Soul Project.
Reilly Owen Piano
Rogue Valley - based keyboardist and percussionist, Reilly has been in a number of projects near and far, from Portland to Paris. Playing with members of the LA Blasters, John Mayer’s band, Mike Eldred Trio, and one of the last generation to have recorded with Andy Combs during the Out with Andy years, as well as Eric Houghton with whom he first started his foray into Rock Operas. Lately you can find him manning the keyboards for local band, Dizzy featuring Zara Davis on lead vocals, or working on overdubs with local producer Darek Deon.
